Teresa Menka, born in 1990, discovered her passion for photography at the age of 15, when she first held a camera and felt an immediate connection. This early experience ignited her dream of becoming a photographer, and she has since pursued this path with unwavering dedication. As a largely self-taught artist, Teresa uses her camera as a compass, exploring the world around her and delving into new expressions of human experience.

Her photography serves as a personal reflection, allowing her to create and express herself as a form of self-therapy. With a unique perspective, her work often blends humor and intricate details, transforming everyday moments into thought-provoking narratives. For Teresa, photography is not just a creative outlet; it is a process of questioning, self-discovery, and a means to document her evolving relationship with her environment over time.

Education:
Teresa holds a certificate in the Fundamentals of Digital Photography from the College of Digital Photography (2009).

As the Creative Director for Visual Storytelling at Foto4Change, Teresa is committed to leveraging her artistic talents and experiences to empower young photographers, particularly those from marginalized communities. She aims to develop innovative programs that promote self-expression and social change through photography, while also curating exhibitions that highlight diverse voices and perspectives. Through her leadership, Teresa seeks to inspire and guide the next generation of visual storytellers in their journeys of discovery and advocacy.
